Grand Theft Auto V to Follow Halo 4's PC Absence? - Nick's Gaming View Episode #105

Grand Theft Auto V to possibly follow the route of Halo 4 and abandon PC, Star Wars: The Old Republic goes free-to-play, and Wii U’s software preorders more than double that of the original Wii, THIS IS NICK’S GAMING VIEW!

Hello everyone and welcome to Nick’s Gaming View, you are here with your host, Nick McCandless. Just weeks after 343 Industries broke the hearts of many PC gamers by stating no plans for a PC version of Halo 4 were intact, Rockstar Games has added to the sickness by stating the following in regards to Grand Theft Auto V “…we’re currently focused on the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of the game and don’t have any details to share about a PC version at this time.” While this doesn’t necessarily mean a PC version will not release, a day-and-date release alongside the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 seems unlikely.

In better news for PC gamers, Electronic Arts has relaunched Star Wars: The Old Republic as a free-to-play title to gamers worldwide. Providing the experience of all classes through level 50 at no charge, those currently subscribed with an ongoing paid subscription will receive complimentary cartel coins and those unsubscribed that reactivate their subscription by December 20th will be granted complimentary cartel coins for their prior paid months.

Wrapping up Nick’s Gaming View, according to GameStop’s preorder figures, Nintendo has achieved a 2.4:1 ratio in regards to the software titles preordered per Wi U console, more than double of that of the original Wii. Mainly in part to the stronger launch lineup including titles such as ZombiU and New Super Mario Bros. U, it will be interesting to see if Nintendo can keep these numbers up as if there was anything to knock the Wii for number-wise, it was certainly its software sales compared to units sold.
