Around 300 pro-Palestinian demonstrators marched through the streets of Santiago, Chile on Tuesday (November 20), speaking out against attacks by Israel on the Gaza Strip.

The exchange of fire between Israel and Palestinian militants have continued without a concrete truce. Hostilities have killed over 130 Palestinians and five Israelis.

In Chile, a police line eventually stopped the marchers and a water cannon was used to disperse the crowd. Four people were arrested.

Chile has the largest Palestinian community outside of the Arabic world with an estimated 450,000 descendants. Most of them arrived in Chile early in the 1900s.
