Egypt court accuses president of waging campaign against it

Discord between Egypt's president and the judiciary heightened on Wednesday after the Supreme Constitutional Court accused Mohamed Mursi of waging a campaign against it.
Mursi had already angered much of the judiciary with a decree that extends his powers and puts his decisions beyond legal review.
A constitutional court spokesman said the President has targeted the court ever since it ruled to dissolve parliament which was led by the Islamist party that Mursi is affiliated with.
(SOUNDBITE) (Arabic) SPOKESMAN FOR THE SUPREME CONSTITUTIONAL COURT, MAHER SAMY:
"Since it published its ruling denying the constitutionality of the Parliamentary elections, the Supreme Constitutional Court has faced a fierce organised and unjust campaign against it."
Mass protests in Tahrir Square have erupted in response to Mursi's decree, while clashes nearby between anti Mursi demonstrators and police continued for a 6th day.
