Robert E. Rubin joined the Clinton administration in 1993, serving in the White House as assistant to the President for economic policy and as the first director of the National Economic Council. He served as our nation’s 70th secretary of the treasury from 1995 to 1999. He is currently co-chairman of the Council on Foreign Relations and is the author of In an Uncertain World: Tough Choices from Wall Street to Washington, a New York Times best seller and one of BusinessWeek’s 10 best business books of the year.

Sebastian Mallaby is director of the Maurice R. Greenberg Center for Geoeconomic Studies and the Paul A. Volcker Senior Fellow for International Economics at the Council on Foreign Relations. He is a columnist and former editorial board member at the Washington Post and author of More Money Than God: Hedge Funds and the Making of a New Elite.
