The 19-10 Atlanta Hawks will hit the road to face the 7-23 New Orleans Hornets in an NBA pro basketball game on Tuesday night. Tip off time from New Orleans is scheduled for 8PM Eastern Time with national television coverage provided by the NBA League Pass Channel.

The betting odds from this NBA game will be out on Tuesday afternoon as Josh Smith is listed as questionable after his return to the lineup on Monday following a hip injury.

The two teams met once last year in the lockout shortened year with Atlanta posting the 94-72 road win as a -2 ½ point betting favorite. The total landed under 176 ½ points. Trend: The under is 4-0 in their past four head to head meetings.

The Hawks had their four game win streak snapped last night 123-104 road defeat to the Houston Rockets as a +5 point underdog. The total came in at over 206 points. Atlanta is now 8-5 on the road this season. The loss marked the third time in four games that the Hawks allowed 100 or more points. Josh Smith is the leading scorer for the Hawks with 16 points and 8 rebounds a game. Last night in his return to the lineup smith had 17 points and seven boards in 23 minutes.

The Hornets are 3-12 straight up on their home court this season. They have won two of three games with each win coming against bad Eastern conference teams in Charlotte and Orlando on the road. New Orleans comes off a 98-95 road win on Saturday to the Bobcats as a -3 ½ point betting favorite. The Hornets overcome a 21 point deficit in the win. The win saw the much needed return to the lineup of Eric Gordon who has missed the entire season with a sore knee issue. Gordon in nearly 25 minutes scored 24 points and seven assists. The Hornets need Gordon’s scoring help as the team ranks 29th and second to last in the NBA with just 91 points a game.
