Life of a Blind Baby Rhino

What life is like for a blind baby rhino.

Dogs and cats aren’t the only animals that live inside our homes.

Take Nicky, a blind baby rhino, who lives in the home of a man named Mike Watson in Kenya.

Just like other baby rhinos, Nicky enjoys playing and exploring. However being blind makes him vulnerable to predators and other natural threats. The black rhino has been residing with the Watson family since he was one-month-old.

He has his own enclosure, play area and straw lined bedroom. Nicky has two handlers that help to care for him 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Although he remains happy despite his condition, Mike Watson has established a CrowdRise campaign in the hopes of raising funds to pay for Nicky's food and medical care.

Roughly 12 years ago, another family in South Africa began taking care of a massive animal. Following heavy flooding , a baby hippo washed up in a yard, owned by Tonie and Shirley Joubert. The couple began taking care of the hippopotamus, named Jessica.
To this day, Jessica is a regular at the house.
