King's Field review. Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow review of King's Field for Playstation developed by FromSoftware and published by Sony Computer Entertainment, ASCII Entertainment Software, Inc, and FromSoftware. King's Field is a first-person, action-adventure RPG. The first game in the series was never released in the US, which caused the subsequent US releases to be misnumbered. Thus, this self-titled debut is actually the second game in the series, but first to North America. The King's Field series is coined as being the so-called "spiritual predecessor" to the Souls Franchise, and rightfully so. Many dark and medieval themes are front and center in King's Field as well as an ambiguous story accompanied by a combat system that's heavy influenced by equipment.
