Super Smash Bros. to invade E3 2013 on Wii U and 3DS, Microsoft to push more advertising into the faces of Xbox LIVE subscribers, and God of War: Ascension to include demo of upcoming PlayStation exclusive, THIS IS NICK’S GAMING VIEW!

Hello everyone and welcome to Nick’s Gaming View, you are here with your host, Nick McCandless. Despite E3 2013 resting more than five months away, because of the anticipation for the next PlayStation and Xbox, E3 2013 is already in the minds of millions of gamers around the globe. Despite Nintendo’s latest platform already being available on the market, hype for Nintendo’s presence is also at its peak with confirmation that Super Smash Bros. will have an appearance during the show on both the Wii U and 3DS. As any Nintendo fan understands, Super Smash Bros. is unarguably one of the largest franchises in the realm of Nintendo and such unveiling will certainly take the industry by storm come this summer.

On a more negative note, Microsoft has hinted towards throwing even more advertisements in the faces of Xbox LIVE subscribers thanks to positive results. Known as “Natural User-Interface Ads”, a revised advertising platform that Microsoft launched during the fall of 2012, user engagement has been nothing short of stellar with 37% of users engaging with the ads when prompted to vote, 71% of those actually voting, and 97% of those participants actually seeing their vote included within the final tally of votes. Ross Honey, General Manager of Xbox LIVE Entertainment and Advertising, hinted at the idea of taking advantage of such success by stating “These results show that Natural User-Interface Ads is a real breakthrough in TV advertising, and you can expect more investment from us when it comes to this new ad format and video advertising in general,”

Wrapping up Nick’s Gaming View, one of Sony’s heavy hitters of 2013, The Last of Us, is teaming up for the March 12th release of God of War: Ascension by including its very first demo on the release of Kratos’ upcoming appearance. No details as to what the demo will contain have been provided, but considering Naughty Dog has showcased the swamp-infested level throughout various conventions, I would not be surprised to see the same experience hit the hands of gamers once God of War: Ascension launches on store shelves.
