This gaming handheld has won my heart -- and it's not fair to call this a toy. There are games in this covering skills on a range of subjects, such as language arts, reading, mathematics and science. I'd strongly advise purchasing an optional SD card, to take full advantage of the online features.
The console comfortably fits into the hands of kids, and I don't have to worry when my daughter is playing with this. In any case the device is quite durable.
The device connects online to the LeapFrog site. This clever application, allows parents to monitor their child's progress on the Learning Path.
Comparisons between the Leapster and i-Pad apps are inevitable. We own both, and in my view the Leapster is a great add-on.
