Corona Arch Rope in Utah Banned By Authorities

Corona Arch rope swinging trips are banned due to the liability risk.
Corona Arch, located in Bootlegger Canyon, Utah is said to be the world’s largest rope swing.
Several videos were posted online showing daring people taking that ride. Well those clips went viral, leading state officials to worry about the surge in popularity and visitors, which in turn could potentially mean an increase in liability risk.
Jumpers were previously paying a fee to outfitter, Utah High Adventure to swing from the arch located on state land. However on January 17th, the School and Institutional Trust Lands Administration told the company that paying customers would no longer be allowed to swing.
Last year, police in the Sacramento-area were asking people to stop rope swinging over the rivers, calling the practice dangerous and illegal. Law enforcement authorities would cut ropes off of city bridges and structures that thrill seekers had put up, but the next day, the swinging contraptions would be back up again.
