PlayStation 4 Related Leaks Evolve - Nick's Gaming View Episode #134

PlayStation 4’s controller prototype leaked, Microsoft comments on Sony’s PlayStation 4 announcement, and the Angry Birds Trilogy to fly onto more platforms, THIS IS NICK’S GAMING VIEW!
Hello everyone and welcome to Nick’s Gaming View, you are here with your host, Nick McCandless. With Sony’s upcoming PlayStation 4 announcement hitting tomorrow, images of what’s believed to be a prototype of the previsioned controller have surfaced revealing a couple interesting features. After a close analysis of the images, it appears the prototype has a touchpad located on the center of the controller similar to what’s implemented on the PlayStation Vita. To go along with the touchpad, the top of the controller has a blue light which may relate to the patent filed by Sony where gamers will have the ability to snap the controller and half and use the segmented pieces as separate motion controllers allowing for a unique gameplay experience which seems to be the focus with Sony’s next console. I just hope we don’t see Sony forget about the hardcore fans and keep the original gameplay experience for people such as myself who aren’t too fond of the motion gaming scene.
Speaking on Sony’s upcoming announcement, Jon Grimes, Director of Retail Sales and Marketing for Microsoft in the United Kingdom made a bold statement regarding Sony’s announcement by stating, “Whatever gets announced on February 20th, the majority of UK consumers won’t know,” While those outside of the hardcore gamers in the UK may not know of all the PlayStation 4 details the day of the announcement, I have a hard time believing the announcement of a brand new PlayStation won’t spark a publicity stunt worldwide. Let’s just hope the new advertising agency PlayStation recently acquired is up for the challenge and is ready to build the hype months before release.
Wrapping up Nick’s Gaming View, Rovio, developer behind the massively successful franchise Angry Birds, has announced that after selling over one million total copies of the Angry Birds Trilogy on PS3, Xbox 360, and 3DS, that the release will be making its way to the Wii and Wii U later this year utilizing Wii U’s specific features. No details were provided on exactly how Rovio plans on pulling this off, but knowing their creative team over there, I am sure they have a few tricks up their sleeves to enrich the Angry Birds experience.
