Borderlands 2 Expands with New Playable Character - Nick's Gaming View Episode #144

New Borderlands 2 DLC teased, Just Cause developer makes large statement regarding the power of PlayStation 4, and PlayStation takes over YouTube for the month of February, THIS IS NICK’S GAMING VIEW!

Hello everyone and welcome to Nick’s Gaming View, you are here with your host, Nick McCandless. During the ongoing South By Southwest expo being hosted in Austin, Texas, Gearbox Software, the development team behind the Borderlands franchise, released a teaser trailer for the next DLC release expanding the Borderlands 2 experience yet again. While details are currently limited, the trailer reveals a sixth playable character crushing enemies with melee-focused combat aligning with previous comments from Gearbox developers stating their desire for a melee character. It will be interesting to see how well the melee-based style corresponds with that of Borderlands 2, once Gearbox Software releases the upcoming DLC, but until then, be sure to check out all of the other DLC to release if you have yet to do so.

If you said my show has been invaded with PlayStation 4 related coverage since its announcement, you couldn’t be more correct, and to continue the trend, Avalanche Studios, the developing house behind Just Cause, has stated that Sony’s PlayStation 4 will “out-power most PCs for years to come.” With PC hardware getting better and better by the month, such statement is impressive considering the expect lifespan of the next PlayStation, but considering the hardware lessons learned by Sony with the PlayStation 3, I have no reason to doubt such statement.

Wrapping up Nick’s Gaming View, PlayStation, the gaming division of Sony known for poor marketing since the launch of PlayStation 3, has accomplished a massive feat with their PlayStation 4 reveal trailer being the most-watched advertisement on YouTube during the month of February. With over 26.3 million views recorded at the time of this shoot, PlayStation beat out a collection of Super Bowl ads which began airing far earlier in the month, let’s just hope Sony can continue this marketing success once the platform is on store shelves.
