A pole smashes through a bus windshield, narrowly missing the driver.

Recently, a bus driver in eastern China was nearly killed along with his passengers after a light pole protruding into traffic following an unrelated two-car crash pierced his window.

The post rapidly smashed through the windshield, striking the driver, but he managed to duck just in time to avoid any life-threatening injuries.

He was able to shift and stop the moving bus, then assist his passengers to safety. The driver was later taken to a nearby hospital for treatment and reportedly was recovering from a ruptured spleen.

Last year, another bus driver in China passed away after he was fatally injured by a piece of metal debris that flew through the windshield. Even though he was wounded and in unimaginable pain, the 48-year-old driver hit the brakes, put his hazard lights on and warned his passengers not to walk down the highway.

He was taken to a hospital where he died several days later from his injuries.
