Al Sharpton: He told me that he first went to a White House dinner and the civil service came over to him and said, the vice president would like to speak to you and he told them well I'm not going over him like a little boy, come over here. The secret service got kind of looked stunned and Mr. Brown had to where looking at you and let you know that I'm serious. So when they realized he wouldn't just sense them. They went back over and said something to the vice president and Mr. Brown said that Humphrey looked across the room at him and laughed and they've got the mid halfway and he liked that. He said Humphrey understood me. He respected me. He said Humphrey said that well you know you gotta be careful now Mr. Brown after he opened [inaudible 0:00:40] and James Brown said he looked at him and he said what do you mean be careful. I hope I do the right thing. I brought peace. He said yeah but those empowered don't like people that have their kind of influence that we know that if you can stop a right, you can start a right.
