Public transportation, and in particular railways networks, have a central role to play in our modern economies, both in order to foster growth and economic development, and as a tool to achieve our CO2 emissions' reduction targets. Railways are therefore not surprisingly one of the important topics under policy reflection in Sweden, as they are in France.

Organized by the French Embassy in Sweden and KTH-Royal Institute of Technology on November 27th 2012, this seminar gathered high-level policy makers, experts and business representatives of Sweden and France, and covered the different aspects of railways from a policy perspective.
