Hong Kong chokes on record high pollution

On the streets of Hong Kong, they clutched tissues and used masks --- to try and battle what the government says are record high pollution levels for this year.

People with respiratory illnesses, children and seniors have been advised to stay indoors.

SOUNDBITE: Teacher Lee Faulkener saying:

"The reason I'm wearing it is because the pollution here in Hong Kong it dreadful today. Appalling. The worst I've seen it since I've seen it the two years I've lived in the city

The city's iconic harbor was shrouded in smog and the skyline - barely recognizable.

Locals say this isn't the worst of it.
