Fallout 4 Misaligns with Bethesda's Teaser Trailer - Nick's Gaming View Episode #166

New York-based Bethesda teaser released, Sony confirms they have a launch date for PlayStation 4, and David Cage reveals whether or not Beyond: Two Souls will make its way towards PlayStation 4, THIS IS NICK’S GAMING VIEW!

Hello everyone and welcome to Nick’s Gaming View, you are here with your host, Nick McCandless. Just a day after Bethesda announced their departure from Skyrim outside of minor updates as needed, Bestheda has released a brief teaser video via Vine, and while the teaser does not reveal much, a record from an artist called “The Moonbeam Trio” is revealed. For those who are unaware, “The Moonbeam Trio” was a New York-based act during the mid 1930s hinting towards Bethesda’s next project taking place in the city that never sleeps. While Fallout 4 is the first game to come to the minds of the many who have witnessed the teaser, Pete Hines, Vice President of Bethesda Softworks, quickly shot the rumor down by stating “You talking about the Vine thing? Guess again :-)” when asked by an editor over at Polygon. Assuming Pete Hines isn’t pulling our legs, I believe we will see a new IP considering neither The Elder Scrolls nor any of Betheda’s other franchises fitting the New York environment. With Betheda working on a game this late into the current console’s life cycle, I wouldn’t be surprised to see the release make its way to the PlayStation 4 and next Xbox, so hopefully come E3, we will hear more regarding what Bethesda is cooking up.

While the next Xbox has yet to be confirmed, Sony’s PlayStation 4 has been known to the world for a couple months now and Sony has confirmed “we know our launch date, and we think it’s very important that gamers receive the new console experience.” Likely saving the date for E3 2013, we all know the console will definitely launch this holiday season, but I am placing bets on late November to allow time for holiday shoppers to get their hands on the console well before Christmas.

Wrapping up Nick’s Gaming View, David Cage, the man behind the upcoming Beyond: Two Souls, has confirmed that despite speculation of Beyond: Two Souls potentially launching on PlayStation 4 alongside the PS3 version, that due to the budget increase required for the PS4 version, the game will remain exclusive to the PlayStation 3.
