Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain Receives Update from Hideo Kojima - Nick's Gaming View Episode #174

Metal Gear Solid V status update, Nintendo’s CEO explains Wii U’s poor performance, and Sony announces another PlayStation event regarding the “future of PlayStation”, THIS IS NICK’S GAMING VIEW!
Hello everyone and welcome to Nick’s Gaming View, you are here with your host, Nick McCandless. With no official release date for the anticipated Metal Gear Solid V, Hideo Kojima has provided a status update making it clear that the upcoming experience will not be making its way to store shelves any time soon. Announcing that all of the mo-cap work has been completed, Kojima has stated, “We still need to shoot game motion, in addition to voice recording, facial capturing. And moreover implementing those tremendous volume of data takes tremendous amount of time and effort.” Knowing how meticulous Hideo Kojima is when it comes to detail and perfection within his very own games, no one knows when Metal Gear Solid V will actually release, but one thing is for certain, when it does release, gamers are in for an incredible experience.
Once gamers are able to head to their local retailer to pick up their copy of Metal Gear Solid V, it will be interesting to see if Nintendo’s Wii U is performing any better than it is currently, but Nintendo’s very own CEO, Saturo Iwata, has admitted to the drawbacks hurting the performance of the Wii U. Speaking on the troubling console “it took off smoothly in the holiday season, but due to the lack of new software titles, we were unable to maintain the momentum this year. We initially hoped that Wii U would be showing more of a presence in the market by now, but the current situation shows that we need to spend more time on and put much effort into recreating the momentum.” How Nintendo will go about rebuilding their momentum is something to be seen, but if you ask me personally, along with more blockbuster releases, better marketing and a more affordable price for Nintendo consumers would likely help.
Wrapping up Nick’s Gaming View, Sony has announced that on May 7th, Sony will talk about “the future of PlayStation in Brazil.” With the PlayStation 4 announced to the world back in February 20 in New York, I’m curious as to what Sony plans on discussing during the upcoming event to warrant a dedicated event, especially with E3 2013 just around the corner.
