Szymon Niemiec

I am a 32 years old Polish Calvinist pastor, LGBT activist and photographer. In fact I was one on the first Polish openly gay person. Everything started in '98, when I joined the first gay happening on the streets of Warsaw. In 2000 The International Lesbian & Gay Culture Network honoured me by title of ILGCN Cultural Ambassador of Poland. From 2001 to 2005 I was a President of Aboard of ILGCN-Poland.

From 2001 to 2004 I was prime organisator of Warsaw Gay Pride Events and founder of The Equality Parade. The last 8 years I work for LGBT community in Poland. Since 2004 I work on my photography.

Now it is hard time for LGBT persons in Poland, but we still try fight against discrimination. It is impossible to do everything whitout help. For now, I start two new project. One is my personal story book. Second is project of establishing Cultural Center fo LGBT community in Warsaw, where I live.
