Army of Two: The Devil's Cartel is a third-person shooter in the duck-and-cover style, a genre inspired by Resident Evil 4 and codified by Gears of War. It's the third game in the Army of Two series, which dates back to the 2008 original. The Devil's Cartel is similar to its predecessors, but it brings in a new team of protagonists and streamlines the gameplay a bit. The game takes place in Mexico, with diverse settings ranging from cities and towns to graveyards and junkyards. The game certainly isn't short on neat environments, but the opposite is true of the battles that take place there. The gameplay tends to be a fairly standardized take on the popular third-person shooter genre, with very little to differentiate itself from similar games on the market. This video review features video gameplay footage of Army of Two: The Devil's Cartel for the PlayStation 3 and audio commentary from Classic Game Room's Derek.
