Fans of Metroidvania-style platformers and cute yellow chickens finally have a game worth of their strange obsessions. Toki Tori 2+ is a deceptively complex puzzle-platformer that forgoes tutorials and hand-holding altogether. Players control a tiny yellow chick who can whistle and stomp. And those two actions can be used in tandem to solve all of the game's puzzles, each of which is more complex than the last. Unlike the original Toki Tori, this one also drops the linear approach for a more open and exploration-based design—again, similar to the Metroidvania style. Only cuter. The Wii U's unique GamePad can be used to play the game off-screen or as a second screen for extra information. The controller can also be used to snap photos of certain creatures in the game, which are then placed in a Tokidex. This is an update to the original Toki Tori 2, which was also released on the eShop. Toki Tori 2+ is a single-player puzzle-platforming experience.
