Temple Black dies at 85, Menzel to perform at Oscars

Shirley Temple Black has died. The actress lifted America's spirits as the bright-eyed, dimpled child movie star during the Great Depression luring millions to the movies in the 1930s. Later in life, the actress became a diplomat, having been named the U.S. ambassador to Ghana in 1974. She died of natural causes at her California home. She was 85.

Julia Roberts half sister has died. The actress skipped the annual Oscar luncheon on Monday (February 10) to be with her family, after her half sister was found dead in a bathtub at a Los Angeles residence. The Los Angeles County Coroner's office said Robert's sister - Nancy Motes - may have died from a possible drug overdose.

Idina Menzel has signed on to perform at the Oscars. The Tony-award winning songstress will perform "Let It Go" - the Oscar-nominated song from the animated film, "Frozen." Menzel tweeted the news, calling the opportunity "surreal."
