[Ariane 5] Launch of Final European ATV-5 on Ariane 5 Rocket (VA-219)

The final European Automated Transfer Vehicle (ATV) number 5 launched today on an unmanned Ariane 5 ES rocket from Kourou in French Guiana at 23:47 UTC, July 29th 2014. The ATV-5 named 'Georges Lemaître' is carrying inside the pressurised compartment 2,600kg of food, supplies and science equipment for the 6 members of Expedition 40 currently onboard the International Space Station. ATV-5 will take 14 days to arrive at the complex with a docking set for Tuesday August 12th.
