An Adelaide resident stabbed two intruders during a botched attempted robbery of cannabis plants and money. The incident happened at around 9 pm on Tuesday when three armed men broke into a home in Kudla, north Adelaide, and a confrontation developed.
The female occupant, 43, lives with her son, 18, and ex-partner, 47. The woman was bashed and had a gun held to her back. A warning shot was also fired through a window. The woman's 18-year-old son was forced to lie on the floor as more threats were yelled at the male occupant of the house. The robbers fired six shots as they searched for money and cannabis plants growing hydroponically in the shed before the 47-year-old male resident grabbed a knife from the kitchen, stabbing and slashing two of the intruders. The two offenders escaped before police arrived. They went to a local health center with serious injuries and were later airlifted to the Royal Adelaide Hospital for treatment. The man who confronted the robbers is now in Lyell McEwin hospital. Police are still searching for the third intruder.
