A sequel to the 1994 game Super Mario Land 3—better known by its subtitle, Wario Land—this game has all the polish and charm you’d expect from a Nintendo platformer. What makes it unique, however, is its emphasis on puzzles. Wario Land II is a more cerebral and puzzle-oriented game than the Super Mario platformers, which are more focused on action. In fact, Wario can’t even die in Wario Land II. He’s a tough guy. Also available in color on the Game Boy Color, Wario Land II is a single-player game on the original Game Boy.
