Classic Game Room reviews MACROSS for Nintendo Famicom from 1985 by Namco, the video game based on the classic, original Japanese anime that would later be dubbed in. Fly your transforming Valkyrie (Veritech Fighter) against waves of Zentradi in this sadly disappointing, and repetitive side scrolling space ship shooter. Fans of Macross / Robotech should enjoy the good looking visuals and transforming jet, but the game play doesn't live up to it. Even the repeating MACAROOSSSS theme song can't save it and eventually becomes irritating. Super Dimension Fortress Macross on Nintendo Family Computer is one to avoid, even at the game's budget price.
