West Bengal Governor Keshari Nath Tripathi said that the Public Works Department (PWD) and Railway administration had the responsibility to maintain the bridge. In Calcutta a part of the Majerahat bridge collapsed, in which 1 died and 19 people were injured. On the accident, Governor Kesari Nath Tripathi gave a strong reaction.
