Ayala may not bid for Pasay project if there's no extension

Ayala Land may not bid for the Pasay reclamation project if it does not get an extension on the deadline for submission of counter-proposals. In an interview with ANC, Ayala Land chief operating officer Bobby Dy indicated the company would probably not bid if there was no extension, saying it would be difficult to come up with a good proposal. "It will be very, very difficult, given the magnitude of the project, 300 hectares, I think the amount stated was P55 billion or close to it. It will be very difficult for us to come up with a bid," Dy said. Ayala Land had asked the Pasay City government for at least 60 more working days to study and submit a competing bid for the reclamation project, which was originally proposed by rival SM Land. Asked if Ayala Land would consider seeking a TRO, he said the company hasn't explored other options yet. "We're hopeful our request is quite reasonable. We have not explored other options at this time," Dy said.
