The 2023 GR86 Special Edition is being promoted by Toyota a "pure sportscar".
It is a version of the GR86 that comes with special add ons and performance tweaks, and it is priced reasonably in the same ballpark as a Mazda Miata. It has a twin in the Subaru BRZ, so you can choose between the two and get basically the same thing...but the special edition does take the car to a higher peg.
