CGRundertow BEN 10: ALIEN FORCE for Nintendo DS Video Game Review
  • 12 years ago
Classic Game Room presents a CGRundertow review of Ben 10: Alien Force from 1st Playable Productions and D3 Publisher for the Nintendo DS. Unfortunately, all the good things that made Ben 10: Protector of Earth such a solid game were either forgotten or ignored in Ben 10: Alien Force...chiefly, gameplay balance and good design. Like its predecessor, Ben 10: Alien Force is an action-platformer. But unlike its predecessor, it doesn't lessen the tedium inherent with the genre. Alien Force is a collection of boring levels with scarce connection to the character's basic gimmick. Where the design of the first game forced you to use all Ben 10's alien forms, the shape-shifting actually feels tacked onto this game. You can still switch forms, but it's never a focused design element. This video review features video gameplay footage of Ben 10: Alien Force for the Nintendo DS and audio commentary from Classic Game Room's Derek.
