LittleBigPlanet Karting Drives Play, Create, Share Genre Into 3D Realm (Interview) - E3 2012
  • 12 years ago
LittleBigPlanet Karting was announced on March 22nd as the latest collaborative effort from both Media Molecule, developer of the LittleBigPlanet franchise, and United Front Games, developer of ModNation Racers and the upcoming open world crime drama release, Sleeping Dogs. Offering a similar gameplay style of ModNation Racers, LittleBigPlanet Karting seeks to deliver the experience ModNation Racers attempted back in 2010. Providing users with the entire LittleBigPlanet toolset, those who are familiar with both the original LittleBigPlanet and LittleBigPlanet 2 will find themselves at home creating new tracks for the online community to shred their tires on.

Allowing gamers to play, create, and share in an entirely 3D world provides unlimited possibilities as players will be able to customize literally every aspect of the game including one's character, vehicle, track, game mode, weapons, etc. LittleBigPlanet Karting truly is an extension of the Play, Create, Share genre and looks to deliver an enjoyable kart racing experience later this year.

While covering E3 2012, I had the opportunity to speak with William Ho, Design Director of LittleBigPlanet Karting, to speak on what LittleBigPlanet Karting will have to offer when it releases later this year, what we can look forward to as far as customization, how the online multiplayer will work with LittleBigPlanet Karting, and more.
