ECW Hardcore Revolution review. Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow review of ECW Hardcore Revolution for the PlayStation developed and published by Acclaim.
It’s a chant that still echoes through arenas to this day—ECW, ECW, ECW! Paul Heyman’s vision truly was a revolution, and you can revisit it with ECW Hardcore Revolution. Made largely from the same core game as WWF Attitude, the game’s mechanics should be familiar to anyone who’s familiar with Acclaim’s prior wrestling games. Unlike the AKI games that would follow, ECW Hardcore Revolution features combo-based controls that requires players to memorize elaborate button sequences to execute wrestling maneuvers, and going back to it, it feels very old-school. The game features more than 50 playable wrestlers, including several ECW legends like Raven, Sabu, Tommy Dreamer and of course, the one and only Steve Corino. Players can choose from several different match modes, including barbed wire matches! Oh my God! ECW Hardcore Revolution is a single-player and local multiplayer game.
