Ipana Troubadors (aka Troubadours) - Four Walls

Sam Lanin was a very popular bandleader through the 1920's. In addition to being known as the Sam Lanin Orchestra, he recorded under many other denominations. During this era, there were a number of orchestras that basically only worked for radio stations and recording studios. These orchestras very often took the name of a show's sponsor. "Sam Lanin and His Ipana Troubadors" (Ipana at the time being a toothpaste brand), was one of these bands. The lovely vocal on this one is by Harold "Scrappy" Lambert, one of the most prolific vocalists who equally recorded under numerous pseudonyms. The present, outstanding record was made in 1928.
