Ipana Troubadors (aka Troubadours) - That's Living

Sam Lanin was a very popular bandleader through the 1920's. In addition to being known as the Sam Lanin Orchestra, he recorded under many other denominations. During this era, there were a number of orchestras that basically only worked for radio stations and recording studios. These orchestras very often took the name of a show's sponsor. "Sam Lanin and His Ipana Troubadors" (Ipana at the time being a toothpaste brand), was one of these bands. The outstanding, uncredited vocal on this sparkling 1929 recording probably is by Smith Ballew.
