Call of Duty Drama Reignites - Nick's Gaming View Episode #119
  • 11 years ago
Drama behind the Call of Duty franchise brought back to life, The Walking Dead’s strange retail hiccups, and Resident Evil 6 officially detailed for the PC platform, THIS IS NICK’S GAMING VIEW!

Hello everyone and welcome to Nick’s Gaming View, you are here with your host, Nick McCandless. Since the Jason West and Vince Zampella fiasco took place back in 2010 after being fired by arguably the most hated CEO in the business, Bobby Kotick, questions around what inspired Kotick to fire two of the most influential forces behind the most successful video game franchise this console generation have remained in the clouds, until now. When being asked about the firing of now co-founders of Respawn Entertainment, Bobby Kotick confidently stated” You find out two executives are planning to break their contracts, keep the money you gave them and steal 40 employees. What do you do? You fire them,” While its unclear exactly what happened behind the scenes, the fact that West and Zampella were forced to drive Call of Duty down gamer’s throats, can you really blame them for wanting to do something different?

Speaking of different, Spike’s 2012 Video Game of The Year, The Walking Dead, is officially on store shelves in retail form after once being an exclusively digital episodic release on the PlayStation Store, Xbox Marketplace, and various PC retailers, but it seems the release has come across some hiccups. According to Telltale Games, developer and publisher behind The Walking Dead, “We have been gathering reports from players about The Walking Dead Xbox 360 retail disc version of the game hitching and stuttering. After reviewing these reports and researching the issue, this appears to only affect players who have a 4GB Xbox 360 Slim, and is not affecting other Xbox 360 models. We will continue to investigate this issue, and hopefully we can provide more information soon.” Strange that such complications would take place exclusively on one model of the Xbox 360, but it will sure be interesting to hear why such issues would relate exclusively to the base model Xbox 360.

Wrapping up Nick’s Gaming View, unarguably my most disappointing title of 2012,
Resident Evil 6, will officially be releasing on the PC platform on March 22, 2013 in both North America and Europe with Europe receiving both download and retail disc versions and North America only seeing the release in digital form. All of the title updates available to the console versions will launch with the PC release and those who download the title through Steam will receive Steamworks functionality.
