Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow review of DOWNTOWN NEKKETSU KOUSHIN KYOKU SOREYUKE DAIUNDOUKAI for Nintendo Famicom developed and published by Technos Japan.
DOWNTOWN NEKKETSU KOUSHIN KYOKU SOREYUKE DAIUNDOUKAI. AKA, the prequel to what we in the west called "Crash and the Boys: Street Challenge." A multidisciplinary show of skill between a bunch of high-school teams in no-holds-barred... um... combat racing. While Technos Japan were ahead of their time in founding the beat 'em up genre back with Renegade - Kunio-kun's initial outing - these basic mechanics don't really translate to a side-scrolling racing game. That didn't stop Technos Japan from trying, though.
