Gauntlet/Rampart review. Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow review of Gauntlet/Rampart for the Game Boy Advance developed by EC Interactive and published by Destination Software.

Two more classic arcade games come to the Game Boy Advance thanks to Destination Software. In this case, 1985’s Gauntlet and 1990’s Rampart. These are two very different games, and they make for an interesting combination. Gauntlet broke ground in arcades as a multiplayer dungeon-crawler, and even though the multiplayer is absent from this version, Gauntlet’s chaotic hack-and-slash action remains. And the action of Gauntlet is contrasted well by Rampart, a smart action-puzzle game that’s more about strategy and planning. Sadly, there is no multiplayer in Rampart, either. Gauntlet/Rampart is a nostalgia-heavy arcade compilation for retro gaming fans and Game Boy Advance completists alike.

This video review features video gameplay footage of Gauntlet/Rampart for the Game Boy Advance and audio commentary from Classic Game Room's Derek.
