Racist police? LAPD cops stop black actress Daniele Watts for kissing white boyfriend

You might recognize Daniele Watts from her role as Coco in the movie Django Unchained. On Friday Los Angeles police officers detained Watts when they apparently suspected her of prostitution.
Watts told ABC in an interview she was kissing her boyfriend, Brian Lucas, while sitting on his lap in his parked car in Studio City, California. A man in a suit approached them, “stop putting on a show, I have people who are trying to work up there,” he said.
Watts was outside the car talking to her dad on the phone when police arrived in response to a report of indecent exposure. Police asked Lucas questions like, “how do you know that woman,” leading him to post that he believed police had mistook the interracial couple for a ho and trick.
Watts told officers she’d done nothing wrong, but when she refused to provide ID, the cops cuffed her. While in the back of the squad car, Watts remembered similarly humiliating experiences her father had with authorities.
Once the facts were sorted out, Watts was free to go. The LAPD released a statement confirming they stopped the couple but determined that no crime had been committed.
