Gran Turismo 6 racing onto PS3 with May 15th announcement, Gears of War creator praises PS3 while stabbing at Xbox 360, and Sony promises plenty more reveals for the struggling Vita platform, THIS IS NICK’S GAMING VIEW!

Hello everyone and welcome to Nick’s Gaming View, you are here with your host, Nick McCandless. With the Gran Tursimo franchise turning 15 this Wednesday on May 15th, Sony has announced a special event at the Silverstone Circuit in the UK involving many of the car manufacturers involved within the franchise along with “exciting announcements about the future of the brand”. While I must wait until the 15th to pronounce anything official, considering the evidence laid out through various outlets over the past 3-4 weeks, I am confident in stating that we will see Gran Turismo 6 officially announced for PlayStation 3 with a release date set during the holiday season of 2013.

Cliff Bleszinski, the mastermind behind two of the most successful videogame franchises in videogame history, Unreal Tournament and Gears of War, has went on the record to praise Sony’s PlayStation 3 regarding indie video game development. Stating “it feels like Sony's embraced a lot of that vibe thus far, as far as indie games go and whatnot.” CliffyB had the opposite to say about Microsoft, “all the stuff you'd have to go through to get your game on Xbox Live Arcade, or even issue updates on; it was a nightmare." With both Sony and Microsoft set to release their next-generation consoles relatively soon, the process in which software is handled is sure to change, so hopefully Microsoft is aware of such complications and acts upon it for the next Xbox.

Wrapping up Nick’s Gaming View, Sony is making it clear that they are not giving up on the Vita despite its poor sales by hyping more reveals for the platform in the near future. With a huge Vita title being teased last week joined by even more talk about future releases, its clear Sony still has confidence in revitalizing the platform, but actually accomplishing this feat is something I’ll sit back and watch.
